Today’s post looks at an early example of using AI to directly design parts, before broadening to look at how AI techniques may reorient some design engineering workflows. Whether these techniques advance our design technology is very open for debate and influence; my hope is that by looking at these tools as they emerge, we can become more desirous for increased capability and able to separate useful tools from the hype of the new.
